Sister Fa is a hip hop artist, human rights defender, and winner of the 2011 Freedom to Create Prize for her important work to bring awareness through music and activism of the harmful consequences of female genital cutting. Like Art Works for Change she believes in the transformative power of the arts to create positive social change.

Alisa Swidler is a leading activist and campaigner for funding and awareness across a host of health and human justice issues in the developing world. Alisa has partnered with President Bill Clinton’s foundation to provide access to vaccines in Asia, with Sir Richard Branson’s foundation to promote the use of solar energy across Africa, and serves on the Development Board of Prince William’s Centrepoint for homeless youth, to name a few of her many initiatives.

Heather Sparks

Heather Sparks is a conceptual artist whose work spans installation, sculpture, and video as well as drawing and painting. She has exhibited recently on the Big Screen Project on 6th Avenue in New York, the Atomic Testing Museum, Smithsonian, and Creative Time, NY. She has been included in the Valencia Biennale, “Observatori”, in Valencia, Spain and in the Lyon Biennale, in Lyon, France. Heather received her MFA from Stanford University and a Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Fellowship.
